The Sunday Team finished off their season unbeaten after the game yesterday at Parkgate. Captain Greg Lindop was obviously delighted with his players (youngsters and Terry Marnick). Will Walker top scored on 65 and a great last over from Dave Fletcher left Neston on 162, 3 runs short. Well done to those spectators who braved the elements outside until forced to watch the final overs from the bar.

OPCC U-13 team v Tranmere Vics (Sunday)
An amazing game and win against Tranmere Vics.
Batting first there were good knocks by Chris Byrne (35) retired and Sam Black with 29. Vics looked like getting the total easily with both their openers retiring on 35 and 38.
With 2 overs to go they were 102 for 6 but some great bowling by Michael Hale and Kieran Cassin saw us home by 1 run. The most exciting game the team has played.

OPCC U-13 team v Wirral (Sunday)
A low scoring game played at the Wirral school ground. We batted first and struggled to get runs, eventually finishing on 60 with Michael Hale top scoring with 18.
After an early wicket by Tom McLoughlin it looked like a Wirral win until Michael Hale came on with his spinners and had the excellent figures of 5 overs, 2 maidens, 6 wickets for 7 runs. Wirral 42 all out.
Definitely a man of the match performance from Michael.
The players looked extremely smart in their new club caps. Season to date, won 2, lost 2.

OPCC U-13 team v New Brighton (Sunday)
A very good effort but we fell short by 26 runs.
They batted and we had them 57 for 4 but dropped catches cost us dearly and they finished on 123.
We ended on 97 for 6 with another excellent 35 (ret.) by Sam Black and 18 by Michael Hale, although Sam Robinson was happiest getting his best ever score, 7 not out.
It was another day of improvement for the team well lead once again by Tom McLoughlin.
Thanks to John Capps for umpiring and Paul McLoughlin for scoring.
Well done,

Dave WW

OPCC U-13 team v Neston (Sunday)
An excellent victory at home.
Neston batted first and scored 107 for 5 with Sam Black taking 3 for 21.
We replied with 109 for 2, Skipper Tom Mcloughlin getting 35 not out and Sam Black 36 not out, winning by 8 wickets.
A good day for the team and the spectators who were treated to coffee and home made Italian cakes by Joyce Westwater.
The match was well scored and umpired by Paul McLoughlin and John Capps.
